- fairways awaiting landscaping
- open areas subject to wind erosion and dust emissions
- building pads and construction roads
SUNRISE COMPANY RECEIVES CLEAN AIR AWARD
Sunrise Company recently won the 1993 Clean Air Award for its control of dust emissions at Indian Ridge Country Club, Palm Desert, CA. The award was made in the category of Model Community Achievements by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
"This is the most prestigious honor bestowed upon individuals, organizations and communities by the SCAQMD," said James Lents, executive officer of the district headquartered in Diamond Bar. "It is symbolic of the visionaries in our region who have helped in the fight for clean iair through innovation, leadershi and exemplary servife."
Sunrise Company developed a dust control plan that serves as an excellent example for large-scale construction projects. By leaving natural vegetation in place until earthmoving take place, regularly watering and stabilizing the ground, and carefully monitoring on-site traffic, Sunrise cut particulate emissions by at least 75 percent, or 488 tons.
Indian Ridge is developed by Sunrise Company in partnership with an affiliate of Mitsubishi Estate Company, Japan's foremost real estate company. The country club community is being financed by Mitsubishi Trust, two of the largest banks in teh world.
